April 30th 2018 is the key date. If you are currently running IBM Cognos 10.x this is a date that should be inked into your diary, preferably in rather large type. Why? That’s because this is the date when IBM will withdraw support for the product and instead focus on Cognos 11, or Cognos Analytics as its now called.

Microsoft launches super-speedy cloud networking out of beta

2018-07-26T22:05:47+00:00

Microsoft gave its cloud customers a free speed boost today with the launch of an Accelerated Networking feature that’s been in beta for almost a year and a half. When customers turn it on, their Azure compute instances will get access to up to 30 Gbps of network throughput. Accelerated Networking taps into specialized chips that Microsoft has installed in its datacentres to offload the work of software-defined networking. That both frees up more compute resources on the tech titan’s cloud servers and provides customers with reduced latency and reduced jitter in their networking speeds.

Generic report templates are provided by vendors but most customers wish to learn how to be self-sufficient in editing & creating their own reports specific to their company. Hiring in experts to create & edit reports can be expensive and not always necessary as a solid understanding of the business is normally more valuable than pure technical ability.

South West Business Intelligence (SWBI) are partnering with the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Wales and South West of England to create sporting opportunities for boys and girls aged 7-18. Through sponsorship of events such as St Joseph’s Swansea’s trip to Croke Park we jointly hope to play our part in retaining young people’s participation in sport. The Challenge: To provide access to safe playing environments with qualified coaches for young people throughout the South West and the retention of boys and girls in sport through adolescence into adulthood.

Parragon Books Ltd., an International publishing company had grown rapidly. With a design team in the UK, Print & Production in China and regional sales offices globally, getting an accurate, up to date view of their sales, stock and distribution channels was critical. This combined with point of sale data allowed for a dynamic stock management system. Furthermore, there was a strategic and operational need to access management reporting; this would enable informed decision making regarding the profitability of publications and determining the most effective distribution channels.
