Background

Hodge Bank is a lending and savings bank, headquartered in Cardiff and has been dedicated to serving its customers in the UK since 1987. With a mixture of both consumer and commercial savings and lending products, the bank is on a mission to provide a uniquely personal service, putting customers at the centre of everything they do.

With this mission in mind, Hodge began a journey of digital transformation towards online banking, servicing and marketing, to serve the needs of its increasingly technology-savvy audience.

Hodge Bank understands that technology and data are key to its success. And its leaders understood this was an advantage over other banks. 

 

The Solution

The team at SWBI began building a relationship with Hodge Bank in 2021, offering BI consultancy alongside their in-house BI / Data warehousing Team.  

Initially SWBI was tasked with providing data warehousing skills to lend a hand to the already burgeoned Hodge Data Warehouse team, but then were soon re-tasked to develop the “front end” reporting using PowerBI.

SWBI created a PowerBI model and suite of reports for Digital savings both migrating existing reports and new reports to suite the new digital era.

 

The Benefits

The new PowerBI savings application process has brought Hodge Bank’s digital offering firmly up-to-date, giving prospective and current clients the ability to interact with the financial institution where, when and how they want.

Also it became apparent that the SWBI team was able to be re-tasked when required due to many years’ experience in BI ”both back” end Data Warehouse/ETL work and “front end” reports and Dashboards.
