SWBi Data Analytics has teamed up with Gloucestershire GAA to promote the development of Gaelic Games in South West England and Wales. The Bath based business intelligence firm who are patrons of many sporting teams in the region have stepped up to support the the Games Development Programmes.

Teams from around the Bristol, Bath and Wiltshire areas attended a day of fun and football. Raising much needed funds for the local club that nurtures not only local football talent, but also instils respect, teamwork and community spirit.

Cognos 10.x…time is running out!
April 30th 2018 is the key date. If you are currently running IBM Cognos 10.x this is a date that should be inked into your diary, preferably in rather large type. Why? That’s because this is the date when IBM will withdraw support for the product and instead focus on Cognos 11, or Cognos Analytics as its now called.

Microsoft launches super-speedy cloud networking out of beta
Microsoft gave its cloud customers a free speed boost today with the launch of an Accelerated Networking feature that’s been in beta for almost a year and a half. When customers turn it on, their Azure compute instances will get access to up to 30 Gbps of network throughput. Accelerated Networking taps into specialized chips that Microsoft has installed in its datacentres to offload the work of software-defined networking. That both frees up more compute resources on the tech titan’s cloud servers and provides customers with reduced latency and reduced jitter in their networking speeds.

Staying in the game (creating sporting opportunities for boys and girls)
South West Business Intelligence (SWBI) are partnering with the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Wales and South West of England to create sporting opportunities for boys and girls aged 7-18. Through sponsorship of events such as St Joseph’s Swansea’s trip to Croke Park we jointly hope to play our part in retaining young people’s participation in sport. The Challenge: To provide access to safe playing environments with qualified coaches for young people throughout the South West and the retention of boys and girls in sport through adolescence into adulthood.
